Stories in Incognito: Share Without Being Seen with Moments

Want to share moments without everyone knowing? With Moments' incognito stories, you have complete control over your privacy.

The Challenge of Social Exposure

Nowadays, many users feel overwhelmed by the pressure to constantly post on social media where everyone can see their actions. The idea of stories in incognito emerges as a solution to this dilemma: being able to share moments without the anxiety of knowing who has viewed them.

Post with Total Control

With Moments, you can decide exactly who will see each post or story. The app offers you six different audience levels:

  • Everyone: anyone can see it.
  • Mutuals: only those who are mutual friends.
  • Best Friends: a list chosen by you.
  • Custom: select specific people.
  • Custom List: such as coworkers or family.
  • Only Me: perfect for keeping private memories.

Easily Create Your Anonymous Stories

Adding stories using incognito mode is quick and easy. From your main screen, select "Create Story" and choose the multimedia elements you want to include (photos or videos). Then you can activate incognito mode before posting to ensure that no one knows who has viewed your story.

A Practical Example: Sharing Memories Among Close Friends

Let's consider a concrete example: imagine you're on a trip with your mutuals. You have some fun photos but don't want your entire follower list seeing those intimate moments. You can create a story using incognito mode and limit it only to your best friends; this way, you'll avoid unnecessary pressures while enjoying the trip.

Time Management with Incognito Mode

Sometimes it can be tricky to manage how much time you spend sharing content without revealing too much. The incognito mode, available for up to 30 minutes a day, allows you to post without leaving a trace or additional worries about who will glimpse your stories later on. Remember that this time resets every midnight local time; so you can use it when you need it most.

Clear Differences Between Blackout and Incognito

Don’t confuse these two options; while both offer unique ways to enhance your privacy:

  • Blackout Method: Allows hiding the general audience when recording or sharing content while maintaining normalcy within the app.
  • Incognito Method: Lets you view content without revealing who has looked at something; very useful for exploring others’ posts as well.

Cloaking the Gap Between Public and Private with Echoes and Story Chains

Thinking beyond the current moment, Moments also incorporates features like Echoes, allowing shared experiences from multiple perspectives among mutual friends within the same location.
This adds extra context to the moment experienced and may even generate narrative chains through combined use with Story Chains where several people can add their views over a defined period (48 hours).
